Weldon
Township Clean-Up Day
from 9 AM until 1 PM at Northern Disposal on Gallagher
Road. Only one pick-up
truck or small trailer load will be allowed per homeowner. If
you wish to dispose
of more than that, the additional fees will be payable to
Northern Disposal. As in
the past, we will also have someone there to collect metal,
including appliances.
You will need to unload your own vehicle or trailer and you
will need proof of residency
in Weldon Township.

One again, the township will have trailers available to take
your items to the clean-up
site. You must load your own items on the trailer. Call the
township hall to make
an appointment: 231-378-2237.

The Weldon Township Planning Commission
will be holding a public hearing to receive public comments
regarding an update to
its current Parks and Recreation Plan (no changes are
needed). The public hearing
is scheduled 6:30 p.m. in the Weldon Township Hall, 14731
Thompson Avenue, Thompsonville,
MI 49683, phone 231-378-2477.

Information regarding the Parks and Recreation Plan will be
available at the Weldon
Township offices by appointment. Comments may be made in
writing addressed to Charles
Kraus, Chairperson, Planning Commission; or via e-mail at
weldonclerk@acegroup.cc; or they may be
made in person at the hearing.

If you are planning to attend this public hearing and are
disabled requiring any
special assistance, please notify the Township Clerk at
231-378-2477 as soon as possible.

About Us
Weldon Township is located in Benzie
County, Michigan and includes the west half
of the Village of Thompsonville. Within
the township are miles of public land open to
hunting and many other outdoor activities,
which includes miles of hiking, cross-country
skiing, and snowmobile trails. Note
that there are also many parcels of private
land in between the public land, so please
be careful and respect the rights of
landowners. The Betsie River runs through the
township with many points of access. The
Betsie is well known for its Steelhead and
Salmon runs.
